{By TeleEraDh — Pre?p Association.' Westport, March 4. Bnller is the only district on the West Coast in which there will be a Licensing Committee' election. The residence of Mr. Woodward, at Fairdown, near Westport, was burnt down, with all its contents. The cau6o of the fire is unknown. The Harbour Board three months ago let an £8000 contract for a tunnel at Cape Fouhvind. The board now has to cancel the contract and do the work by day labour. The Denniston Miners' Union 6ent £30 to Mr.' Keir Hardie, M.P., for sufferers by the war. In acknowledging it, he says he will distribute it m the poorest districts. The British Imperial Oil Company's steamer Physa having bunkered has Bailed for Singapore. Richard-Powoll, cook of the steamer Karori, was' takon : to the Hospital, where he died. No information is available as to his relatives.
