The following new members were elected:—Dr. Childs (Collingwood), Dr. Gowland (Timaru), and Dr. Brown (Dunedin). Delegates were .appointed to the, Home Branch and Dr. Barnett, of Dunedin, was appointed to represent the branch at the annual meeting in England in July. Dr. Stanley Batchclor read a paper on "Some Observations on Surgery or Gallstones," which was followed by an interesting discussion by ' ths members present. Dr. Burns also real a very, interesting paper on "A Case of Cerebral Hydatids." A paper by Dr. Kinder on "Acute Spondylitis and its Surgical Treatment" was postponed till to-mor-row morning. . A reception was given by Mrs. Irving (wife of the president) in the Art Gallery tliis afternoon.
