TROUBLE WITH FIREMEN
STEAMER KOMATA HELD UP. (By Telegiouh—Piw A.woei«,ttoi.i ■ Auckland, February, 20. ' 'The steamer Komata's departure for Westport was delayed yesterday owing to trouble with, the firemen. The vessel is still in port: The vessel was for several months employed as an Admiralty oollier, and carried an extra man in the stokehold to meet the unusual conditions. ' :
• On arrival here several of the firemen asked for their discharges, and others were engaged for the , trip to Westport. The company, however, reverted to the original complement, as _ provided by law. The firemen refused duty unless the extra man was replaced. _ The head office in Dunedin is being consulted, and in the meantime the Komata ,remainß idle.
