In the 440 s' a championship the first four to finish all did the distance under standard tune. During the afternoon Professor D. B. Anderson, of Auckland, gave a splonjliil exhibitioin of scientific and fancy swimming. The results are: — 33 1-3' Yards Inter-Club Handicap.— V. WELLINGTON CLUB'S CARNIVAL. The Swimming Carnival to be held at the Te Aro Baths by the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club on Saturday, promises to be most successful. The club is distinctly fortunate in securing entries from Messrs. Welson, Atkinson, Sinton. Bowen, Miss D. Farquhar, and other champions. ' The Duthie Cup for Wellington and suburban school championship promises to be keenly contested, as also the Norden Cup,- to 1 be competed for by teams representing Canterbury and Wellington. ' Canterbury hold the trophy at present. During the afternoon the junior diving championship of the Wellington Amateur Swimming Club will be decided. THORNDON CLUB. . Last night the Thorndon Club decided the preliminary heats of a 100 yds. club handicap. ~ The results are:—First heat: F. Desmond, 1; F. Roberts, 2; J. Burns,- 3. Also started: A. Saunders, E.
