POST & TELEGRAPH OFFICE PICNIC
The annual picnic of the officers of the Post and Telegraph Department was held yesterday at Day's Bay. During the afternoon the Hon. R. H. Rhodes, P.M.G., Mr. W. R. Morris, secretary, and Mr. G. B. Dall, assistant secretary, were present. The great success of the outing was due largely;to the efforts 1 of the secretary, Mr. J. A. Humphrey, assisted by an able commit-; tee. A lengthy sports programme was gone through, and the following are the results: —50 yards swim—Doull, 1; Reid, 2. Dive—Doull, 1; Grey, 2. 100 yards, handicap—Donnelly, 1; Sutherland, 2. 220 yards handicap—Sutherland, 1; Hume, 2. Ladies' 50 yardsMisses Battersby and ' Dodds, dead heat, 1. Thread-needle race —Hume and Miss Gayner, 1; Robinson and Misß Burn, 2.' Sack race—Parker, 1: Shelker and Mead, dead heat, 2. Pickaback race —Meredith and Haliburton, 1; Coop and Doull, 2. Wheelbarrow race —Gibbs and Go van, 1. Three-legged race—Hume and Parker, 1; Coop and Sutherland, 2.-
