Tinopai took' the lead early in the raw But Bedford was always handy and at the turn came through and won in a punishing finish by he|f a length. Eoyal Irish was coming very fast in the last tlirce tumngs, but Tinopai kept second place by half a neck. Phosphorus aad Allegation were fourth' and fifth. The pace was too hot for the well-known aged mare La Eeina, who broko down at the conclusion of the race, and was taken off the track with difficulty. Time Smin 91-ssoo.
