The Argonne is calm; the enemy appears to have suffered severely in the rccent D ' London, February 2, 4.30 a.m. "Paris reports that the enemy waß violently attacking the Frenches north of the La Bassee-Bethnne Road on Monday, but were repulsed with heavy losses. German infantry attempting to surprise a trench at Baumonthamel were put to flight. There is great activity in the Fontaine Maideme and Bois de la Grurie Forest region. The enemy's attack in the direction of Bagatelle was repulsed."
