Sale:—'Waihi, 40s. 6d. LONDON MINING QUOTATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrieht London, January 28. Tho following are the closing quotations for the shares named:—Broken Hill, buyers 325.. "sellers' 335.; Hampden, buyers 18s. Id., sellers 19s. 4d.; Waihi, buyers 375. 6d., sellers 40s. WAIHI REEFS-GIGANTIC. Tho report of the mine manager of the Waihi Reefs-Gigantic for the past week is a=. follows:—At the 1000 feet level tho contractor is making good progress with the crosscuts. North face has been advanced 23ft.. and S.E. face 18ft., making advancement 41ft. for tho week. The north face is now 157 ft. from shaft and south-east face 73ft.; both faces are in firm andesito of the best description, tho north face in particular has the appearanco of being in reef country, and I should say that quartz met with in this class of rock should not fail in values. Everything possible is being done to facilitate the advancement of crosscuts, and a sharp lookout is being kept for quartz, indications. The smaller parte of the now winding engine m now being fitted to place; and same .w.ul soon bo in working order.
