The annual tournament of the Dominion Bowling Association was brought to a close to-day in fine weather. Section winners in the singles championship met this morning, and the final was reached this afternoon. Details of play are as follow:— ELIMINATING ROUND. Neill (Dujiedin) 20 v. Buohanan (Green Island) J6. INTER-SECTION PLAY. ■M. Walker (Ponsonby) 23 v. Jury (Karangahake) 14. Walker was always well ahead in this game. He scored seven on tho first three hoads and led 17—4 at the 11th head. Walker led 23—4 at the 14th, but Jury scored on all tho remaining heads. The game ended 23—14 in Walker's favour. ■ Hill (To Hiwi) 23 v. Harraway. (Dunedin) 20. This game was closely contested all the way, the greatest margin between the men at any Btage being three points. The game ended 20 all. Hill scored three on the 22nd head. Stokes (Grey Lynn) 17 v. Neill (Dunedin) 15. There was never much between tlie men in this game, which was 12 all at the 17th head. Stokes eoored 1, 3, 1, and led 17—12 with one head to go, out of which Neill got throo. Osmond (Auckland) 18 v. Crowhurst (Auckland) 10. Osmond made a great daah at the start, and at the 13th head led 15—6. Crowhurst, however, made a great recovery) and the game at the 19th head was 15 all. Ed oh player got a. single out of tho succeeding heads, and the game ended 20 all. Tfle deciding head, the 22nd, was won by Osmond. THE SEMI-FINALS. " Walker 20 v. Hill 12. The score gives no indication of the quality of the play in this match. At the 13th head the Ponsonby man led 14 —5, and at the 19th it was 20—6 in his favour. Stokes 23 v. Osmond 17. Stokes started well, and the game waa B—28 —2 ill his favour at tho fourth head. The Grey Lynn player was 14—7 at the . tenth head, but Osmond recovered his form and reduced the lead to one point , at the 13th, when tho game was 14—13 : in Stokes's favour. The gamo was 18—13 at tho 16th head, and then 3 oil the next gave Osmond another chance, the scores being 18-48 in Stokes's favour. A single to Osmond was neutralised by a Bimilar 6coro by Stakes. A , four to Stokos on the 20th bead ended the game, and Osmond lost the game through hesitating to play the firm shots with which no iB Usually so successful. : THE FINAL. M. Walker (Ponsonby) 10 v. Stokos (Grey Lynn) 6. . . . ... This game opened promisingly, with both men drawing beautifully.
