THREE MORE CENTURIES ——— » Some fine batting and heavy scoring were witnessed at the Basin Reserve on Saturday afternoon, when the cup matches were resumed. - The East team scored solidly against Old Boys, and ran up a total of 444 runs. Tho highest scorer on the East side was Barnett, a colt just elevated from the junior grade. He batted' very well, and though ne got into the nineties he had the bad luck to bo robbed'of the full opportunity of'reaching the century through the innings closing. Gibbes batted in improved form; but Phillips, who made 88,' though as caTeful as usual, had periods of great uncertainty. One of the treats of tho day was the century smacked up at express speed by Hiddleston. He and Bray batted together and hit off the century in forty piinutes. Hiddleston got his hundred in. an hour, and Bray got his in about an hour and a quarter. These two Norh batsmen scored between them more than the whole of tho team opposed to them (Central).
