THE SALVATION ARMY
7 SOCIAL HALL OPENED AT TRENTHAM MILITARY CAMP. On Wednesday evening a large and commodious iron building erected by the Salvation Army was declared open by the Camp Commandant, LieutenantColonel Porter, who spoke most appreciatively of the work already accomplished by the organisation. The building, which will accommodate some 400 men, was packed to the doors. Commissioner and Mrs. Hodder, who were accompanied by Colonel and Mrß. Powley, addressed the troops, and received a most enthusiastic reception. The building was erected in the record time of two days, this being accomplished' through the voluntary efforts of tie men themselves, who rendered their services free. Every convenience is provided for the comfort of the troops, and the Chaplain, Ensign Garner, is working assiduously to further the - interests of the men during their stay in oamp.
