REBEL LEADER SHOT London, December 20. Captain Fourie, who led a, rebel commando, las been shot. Tho"death sentence passed on his brother has been commuted, and he has been ordered to be imprisoned for five years. [Captain Fourie and forty-five of his commando were captured in the riverbed at .Nooitgedacht (100 miles cast of Johannesburg) by Colonel Pretorius.] Gape Town, Decomber 20. At the court-martial on the Fourie brothers, both of whom formerly were officers in the Defence Force, the elder bitterly reproachcd the British conduct in the Boer War, and declared that the British had injured Boer traditions on every opportunity.
