MINE SWEEPERS SUNK London, December 20. Two mine-sweepers between Scarborough and Filey were blown, up, and a third seriously damaged. Most of the crcws were saved. STEAMER MINED. OFF THE NORTH OF IRELAND. London, December 20.' The steamer Tritonia, bound to New Brunswick, was mined north of Ireland on Saturday last, and is believed to have foundered. - The crew were landed. [The Tritonia, a steel vessel of 4272 tons gross, owned by the Donaldson Line, Ltd., was built in 1893 by D. and W. Henderson and Co., Glasgow.] CRUISER ASKOLD. CAPTURES A GERMAN VESSEL. Petrograd, December 20. Official.—The cruiser Askold has arrived at Port Said, with a German vessel captured on the Syrian coast. She also blew up a Turkish steamer and sank another at Beirut. THE TENNESSEE. ARRIVES, AT ALEXANDRIA'. London, December 20. Tho American cruiser Tennessee has arrived at Alexandria. [On November 17 the cruiser Tennessee, anchored at Vourla, sent a-launch to seek permission to enter Smyrna (Asia Minor). The forts fired on the launch, which returned to the ship. Tho commander intimated that he would enter forcibly if necessary. In reply to a demand for an explanation made by the United States, tho Porte stated that the fort had only fired as a warning that the water in tho vicinity was mined. Tho explanation ivas accepted.]
