' huntly miners fined. (By QJdesrapl.-Press Association.) Auckland, December 4. Mi to-day two men pleaded euilty to having had lucifer matches in their possession in Ralph's Mine on November 28 last. His Worshio pointed out the seriousness of these offences, and if many more similar cases came before him he would, he said, require to inflict the extreme penalty. Each accused was fined £2 and 7s costs. Another man also pleaded guilty to havjng had in his possession portion of a used cigarette in Ralph's Mine, which is a contravention of the Act. His Worship took a lenient view of this case) as accused had no matches in his possession. He was discharged oil payment of 7s. costs.
