The Government has prohibited l the export of tinned meats and tin plates to Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands, also tanning extracts to all destinations. < ■ , , ZINC CONTRACT CASE., (Rec. December 6, i p.m.)' London, December 5. The Zinc Corporation- sought a decision as to whether its contract'to sell the whole of its output to the German firm of Aaron Hirsch and Son until 1919 la voided by the war or merely bus- i pended. Mr. Justice Sargent held that the case I was covered by the clause' suspending the contract during the continuanoe of ev.ents beyond the control of the vendors "or buyerß and which prevented or delayed the carrying out_of the agreement. He granted an injunction restraining the directors from acting on the 'assumption that the contract had terminated, and added' that it was undoubtedly a case that should go to the highest tribunal. RUSSIAN BILLS DISCOUNTED, (Rec. December 6, 4-p.m.) London, Decem|>er 5. In consideration of the , receipt of £8,000,000 of Russian gold the Bank of England is discounting, under Government (British presumably)' guarantee, a further £12,000,000 of Russian Treasury bills, making a total of £20,000,000..
