MODERATE LEAGUE WATCHFUL. An advertisement announcing a pub--jic meeting, to be held on Friday evening next, was brought under the notice of the executive of the Moderate League at a meeting yesterday when the following resolution was carried:— "That as the name of the' New Zealand Moderate League has been used by the Prohibitionists in advertising a publip meeting, to be held in the Town Hall on Friday evening' next, and as the advertisements indicate that an attempt is to be made to discredit the league in the public eye, the executive hereby'resolves to be officially present at such meeting, and if found necessary will take part in the • proceedings to safeguard the interests of the league and its members."
