MASTERTON NOTES.
A mass meeting of local friendly societies is to be held on Thursday next to consider the- matter of a proposed new agreement with the chemists. Entries for the Masterton Rose and Sweet Pea Show closed on Monday night. Although the number is not. mute up to that of last year, everything points to a most successful- show. Seventeen competitive designs have been received by tho Masterton Borough Council for ,tho new municipal buildings. Mr. R. W. M'Kenzie, a prominent member of the Wairarapa Amate'ur Athletic Club, wa6 presented on Monday night by tho club with a handsome silver cake basket, on the occasion, of his approaching marriage;
