A mass meeting of local friendly societies is to be held on Thursday next to consider the- matter of a proposed new agreement with the chemists. M'Kenzie, a prominent member of the Wairarapa Amate'ur Athletic Club, wa6 presented on Monday night by tho club with a handsome silver cake basket, on the occasion, of his approaching marriage;
