FOR THE MARSDEN CELEBRATION

A concert arganised by St. Mark's Young Men's Club was held in the Church Schoolroom last ovening, in-aid of the funds for the Marsden celobration. An excellent programme had been prepared for the -evening's entertainment, and was contributed to as follows; —Pianoforte solo, tho Rev. W. D. S. Ogden; recitations, Miss Ngaire Lemmou and Master-Leonard Power; song, Miss I. Jones; duet, Misses I and D. Jones; '-humorous sketch, Dr. Norman Hales;.and conjuring, Mr.- G. Gracc.' After tho interval came a comedietta entitled ""Withered Leaves" in which there was tho designing and eold-hearted villain, who kills his wife with neglect and seriously threatens the happiness of the hsro, Arthur Middleton, and tho heroine, Rivers. Iu the end, after various exciting episodes, all turns out as it should, and the story ends to tho satisfaction of all concerned. "Tho characters wore ably sustained, and woro as follow:—Sir Conyers Conyers, Mr. A. Carstons; Tom Conyers, Mr. Prank Ward; Arthur Middleton, Mr. R. T. Dillnor; Cecil Vano, Mr. G. Deslandos; Lady Conyors, Miss J. Kinvig; May Rivers, Miss G. Andrews. Mr. R. T. Dillnor was stage managor.
