MR.-'lt. A. WEIGHT AT MIRAMAR. Mr. R. A. Wright, continued his campaign last night, tho meeting being held in the Town Hall, Miramar. Tho Mayor (Mr. P. Townsend) occupied the chair, and in a few words introduced tho candidate., Mr. Wright received nn excellent hearing, and was warmly, applauded at the conolusioh of his address. Replyijig to questions, he said that, generally, he favoured the' referendum, because it was impossible for tho domocrar/y to express itself in any other way. ~A vote of thanks was carried by acclamation. Mr. Wright will speak •. to-night at Wyatt's Store, Worser Bay. MR. C. £. WILSON'S CAMPAIGN.

(F.rom a Correspondent.) / Waitanguru, November 4. Mr. C. K. Wilson addressed the electors at ; 'Mairna on Monday when there was a -good attendance or settlers. The membcir was listened to very attentively and tlio meeting terminated with cheero. On Tuesday the settlers turned up iii tig numbers at Waitanguru and ■ at Uie conclusion of the speech a vote of t/hanks and confidence was passed unanimously. Ho referred to the non-borrowing pretensions of the Government, and to the fact that Hi had already, borrowed fifteen millions, whilst for the present year it had arranged to borrow thirteen and a half. 'What was there to show for it? The Government had not done anything for I the backblockers, was shutting down the G-isborno railways, yet was arranging to build, palatial.',; stations in centres. Maslin, Opposition candidate for Ashburton, opened his election campaign hero by addressing a fairly largo audience in the Theatre Roynl to-night. He spoke for close on two hours on approved party lines, dealing with the naval question, finance, civil service, and administration of the Government," all the works of which he denounced. He 6tated that he was against the Bible-in-Schools. Luke, the Reform candidate for Wellington South, will open his campaign at St. Thomas's Hall on Fridav of next week. • 'In tho Bouloott Street Hall on Thursday ovening, at SVo'clock, Mr. H. E. Holland, the Social Democratio candidate for Wellington- North, will continue his campaign. Women are specially invited. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. Mr. A.' Aislabie will address electors at Maranui Church Hall, Lyall Bay, at 8 p.m. to-rnorrow.
