Mr. W. J. Treadwoll, of Wanganui, appeared for the administrators of the estate' (to submit to the judgment of the Court) and also for the successors ; Mr. Geo. Hutchison, of Wanganui, acted for Hira Maaka,an infant, claiming to have been adopted'by the deceased-;' and Mr. C. C. Huttdn, of Wanganui, appeared for the Aotea Maori Laud Board (to submit to the judgment of the Court), and also for the creditors of the- deceased. After hearing the addresses of counsel, tho Court reserved decision. A.S.R.S. AND THE MINISTER. An, originating summons concerning appeals by railway servants to tho Railway Appeal Board'came on •for hearing in the Supreme Court yesterday before His Honour the Chief justice (Sir Robert Stout). The plaintiffs'_ we're the Amalgamated Society .of Railway Servants of New Zealand, and tho defendant was the Minister of Railways. ■ Mr. M. Myers appeared for tho society, while the Solicitor-General (Mr. J. W. Salmond, K.C.) appeared for tlio Minister. At the' outset, tho Solicitor-General • objected to tho form ,of procedure adoptod (> aiid tho case was therefore adjourned until a date'to be fixed.about three weeks hence. PRISONER FOR SENTENCE. George F. Sjevers appeared for sentence in tho Supreme Court yesterday morning before His Honour'Mr- Justice Hosking, on a charge of itheft of £4S 12s. at Masterton. Mr. T. M. Wilford appeared for the prisoner, who was remanded until Tuesday next. Bail Was renowod in the sum of £100 and one .surety of £100.
