STATE CONTROL OF WHEAT
BOARD IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. (Rec. October 23, 10.10 p.m.) Adelaiciß, October 28. In tho Legislative Assembly, the Commissioner of Crown Lands, moving the second reading of the Seed Wheat Bill',, stated . that the' Government did not propose to fix the price of wheat. A specially-appointed board would acquire tlie ivheat as. an ordinary purchaser, or compulsorily at a price agreed with the vendor; failing that, at a price to be fixed by the Commission. The wheat would then be sold to the farmers, or advanced under tho provisions o'f the Drought Relief Bill. Ho anticipated that thros million bushels would' bo reaped in South Australia, and thisjiarvest would meet the requirements of tho State.
