A FINE DUNEDIN -EFFORT.

1 Dunedin, October 21. Four meetings were held this _ afternoon simultaneously with the object of raising money for the British and Belgium Relief. A half-holiday -was proclaimed and thero was a large and enthusiastic gathering at each meeting. All the meetings were addressed by the Revs. A. Wynne Thomas and R. S. Gray, and at each a resolution of. sympathy with the Belgians in their distress, and admiration for their gallant resistance was carried. Cash collected at the-meetings, and promises, total about £2828. .

. MOVEMENT TO RAISE ; £25,000.; Auckland,. Octobet- 21. A large gathering of citizens was held to-day to inaugurate' a campaign for assisting the Belgians. A- strong committee was - appointed and various echemes for raising funds were discussed. Subscriptions are pouring in to the funds. A sum of £25,000 will probably be the objective, of the movement.
