A CAPTURED GUNBOAT

USED TO BRING PRISONERS TO SYDNEY ■ (Rec. October 19/ 9.15 p.m.) • Melbourne, October 19. Senator Pearce, Minister for Defence, has received a wireless message giving the details of the capture of the gunboat Komet reported on October 16. The Komet had a complete wireless plant and a quickfirer aboard. The captain, four German officers, and fiftytwo natives wore taken prisoners. There were no casualties. The Komet is proceeding to 4 Sydney with the late Governor of New Guinea and other prisoners aboard.
