London, October 15. The newspaper "Scotsman" states that a German submarine was seen ofi! the east coast of Scotland recently, apparently relying on a supply ship. This was captured, and the submarine then lay on the sea bed, in shallow water, for somo time, rising occasionally for tho renewal of its air supply. It thought it had detected an opportunity for attacking a. patrol fleet. Three times it fired torpedoes, but on the third occasion the patrol vessels located the submarine's periscope, and escaped without damage The submarine then dired. A cordon of destroyers waited until the submarine, which was practically without fuel, came to the surface, when she received a crashing gunfire and sank.
