WESLEY SUNDAY SCHOOL

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATTIONS. Tho Wesley Sunday School Anniversary was_ celebrated in Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, last evening, the Rev. J. G. Chapman presiding. Proceedings opened with the school tea, at which about 400 scholars and fnend6 were present. Then came a Sunday School demonstration by the infant pupils, followed by recitations and tableaux by the intermediate pupils. The annual report, read by the secretary (Mr. L. J. Brabin}, was adopted.' It stated that general progress had been evidenced by the interest sustained in tho various departments. In the senior Bible-class there had been very ' decided progress, some 60 now members being added to the roll during the year. The school had to contend with a serious loss—the transfer of the superintendent (Mr. H. T. H. Grave)— but his place had been worthily filled by Mr. C H. Barratt. Tho whole'of the, collections, amounting to £59, had been devoted te home and foreign missions. Three Christian Endeavour Societies, in conjunction with the school, had recently raised £50 for the 6ame object. Apart from this, the societies had expended £30 for the support of three teachers in New Guinea. The membership of the Echool stood at 483, teachers, officers, and primary helpers numbering 67. For the ensuing year, the officers are: Superintendent Mr. C. H. Barratt; secretary, Mr. L. J. Brabin; assistants, Messrs. W. B. Strong, H. Heyhoe, C. Fiebig, and F. Turner; treasurer, Mr. L. Travers; librarian, Mr. W. A. Grenfell; assistants, Messrs. G. Kucheu, J. Ralph, I. Irvine; musical conductor, Mr. W. B. Strong; organists/ Miss B. Brittain and Mr. B. Gardiner: pianist, Miss Carter; Sunday School union representative, Mr. 11. H. Chinchen; auditor, Mr. J. Kellow.
