CRICKET THE STAR CLUBAt the annual meeting of the Star Cricket Club, held at Kilbirnie, the report commented on the promising showing of the club's team m winning the outside association junior competition last season. It was decided to enter two teams in this season's fixtures. The following officers wore elected for the ensuing;season:—President, Mr. J. Mann; vice-presidents, Dr.' rSewman, M.P., Mossrs. F. Young, all square; C. A. Brown and W. K. A. Gill, all square. LAWN TENNIS .'...< The Kbandallah Lawn Tennis Club opened its season on Saturday. The gathering, which promised to be a very enjoyable one, was marred by unpleasant weather; intermittent showers and the high wind making play impossible. There was a good attendance of members and their friends at the. pavilion, which was effectively decorated : with the club's colours. Mr. F. Holdsworth (president) declared the season, open, and played the first ball over the net. i . .
