ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.
The report to be presented at the annual' meeting of the Petone Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade states that.there were 18 persons on the roll at the beginning of the year, and five new members had joined; two had left the district, and tho number on the rot 1 now was 21. An examination Inst October conducted by Dr. Ross (Divisional Surgeon) resulted in 11 members passing, satisfactorily. Twentytwo meetings had boon hold during.tho year, and had been weir attended. Ten members had been on football duty each Saturday and had dealt with 39 cases, as against 11 last yoar, an increase or 28. Twenty-two of these had been treated directly by members in tho first round, tho remainder requiring the services of medical men. Thanks wero duo to Dr. Ross for always being in attendance. During the year a room had been built at tho Petone Recreation Ground by the Borough Council for ambnlnnco work, and the division had been congratulated by many on having supplied a long-felt want. The total number of cases treated during the year was as follows:—On football duty, 39; Gear Co.'s works, 70; Government Workshops, "0; Wellington Meat Export Co., 10; other places, 10; total, 205.
