FEATHERSTON.
Trout-fishermen' report that good sport has been obtained in the various streams about bore, although no record catches have beon made. It is to be regretted that a. good deal of poaching Is going on. The local Rifle Club opened its season on Saturday with a practice match. At a well-attended, meeting of ladies held on Monday it was decided to form a Croquet Clab in Featborston, *& " separate organisation from the Tennis Club. The following committee was appointed:—Mesdames A. P. Holmes, A. E. Palmer, E. A. Laery, A. J. Toofjood, H. Tiitbury, J. M'Kenzie, Miss E. Card.; Miss G. Lewis was appointed hon. secretary, and Mrs. E. H. Saunders hon. treasurer. About twenty-fivo members have been enrolled, and the season will be opened on Ootober 15. Consequent upon tho recent dry weather the milk supply to the local factories has declined during the past few weeks. ■
