CRICKET
* The report to be presented l at the annual meeting of theHutt Cricket Club states that the senior team played nine matches, but did not secure ft win. The batting average was won by A. Aldcrsley (25 runs per iunings), J. Uodgers and A. S. Staples following closely. The bowling average was won by J. Styles, who took 28 wickets at a cost of 16 runs per wicket. In the junior team, H. Ellison won the batting average (17.7 runs per innings), D. J. Neazar being second. The report adds that credit is due to the Ground Committee, especially Messrs. Aldersley, Styles, and Judd, for attention to the wickets, which have been of a high order. The finances of the club are sound, and thanks are expressed to Messrs. A. Samuels, M. Denniston, V. Riddiford, B. Wilson, E. P. Bunny, and Dr. Hector for their support, and also to Mesdames Yeats and Judd and Miss Yeats for the way they have attended to afternoon tea. The club regrets the loss of one of its most able members by the death of Mr. A. L. Pringle, and the report'concludes bv mentioning that three members have joined the Expeditionary Force—namely, Messrs. E. Kitto, \\. M'Caw, and D. Yeats.
