Tho Napier Park Racing Club's Spring Meeting takes place at Greenmeadows to-day. The principal event to be decided at tho fixture is the Park Stakes Handicap, iu which the New Zealand Cup candidates, Sea Pink and Multiply are likely to be competitors. Capital entries have been received foi Lhe Wellington Racing Club's' Spring Meeting, an especially pleasing feature being the number and class of candidates for the Champion Plato. A notable absentee from tho field is tho Trentham-trained Ladoga, who. it is veported, has gono wrong. This' N -is most unfortunate, as the Sir Laddo gelding was looking very well, and had been shaping attractively on tho tracks.
Hyetussa, who is engaged in the Juvenile Handicap the Napier Park sheeting -to-day, is tho chestnut sister to Hyottus. , At Randwick this afternoon, tho Australian Jockey Club's spring carnival commences. Tho principal event to. be decided to-day is tho A.J.C. Derby. In this raco great interest will centre in tho running of Woorak, who has only once been defeated up to the present. Handicaps for the Masteiton. and Hawke's Bay meetings will be declared «n Monday. Fashion Plate is likely to be well sup-' ported in tho Taradalo Hurdles at tho Napier Park Meeting:this afternoon. Among the candidates that will ba Tacing at Greenmeadows to-day ' are Gazette and Our King, both winnera at Trcntkani. The three-year-old Hapsburg, who has won nearly £9000 ia stakes in England this season, belongs to the same familv as .the Bushy Park sire Hallowmas. Taringamutu, who is entered for-tho Juvenile Handicap to be run at Trentham on Labour Day, is a filly with only ono ear. Taringamutu is the • Maori for one car.' Stopfelt, dam of the Wanganui Guineas winner, Reputation, has been book, ed to the imported horso Hallowmas for the season of 1915. • ■ Advice received from Napier yesterday stated that tho racing track at Greenmeadows was in splendid order for to-day's racing. A meeting of tho Woodlands Hunt was held tins week, when pleasure was expressed that Mr. G. Hunter's Gaming Bill had passed the Lower House. It:was resolved to apply for a totalisator permit for the Hunt. The following were elected a deputation to back up the application:—Mr. G. Hunter, M.P., and Messrs. E. Darley, W. Sullivan, J. Breeds, S. V. Rodney, and J. M'Cardle. A statement , submitted in connection with tho receivi Hunt 6howed a small credit balance.
