'By I'eieriaii:. ■ -•• . \ s c-,.; n i 1011 ., Auckland, October 2. , Xhere has been an agitation,- originating at Cliristchurch, from tho New Zealand Owners' Trainers', and Breeders' Association, to secure a new system of liaadicapping, under which no trotting horse snail b a handicapped lower than its best winning time.- The Aucldaad Trotting Club considers this would ruin, trotting and declines to accept it. Yesterday the-Auckland branch of the Owners' Association sent a mandatory .letter to the Auckland Club, demanding an answer before 8. o'clock ns to whether the Auckland Club would introduce tho new system of handicapping. The club held a special meeting aad decided to refuse. The owners and breeders thereupon resolved to ■boycott the Auckland Club's Spring Meeting, which takes place a fortnight hence, and for which entries close to-night.
