SAILORS FRIEND SOCIETY
The' .weekly entertainment at tho. Sailors' Friend Society Institute was held last evening, when -Mrs. Easson provided a delightful concert. Mr.. J. Moore, missioner, presided over a crowded audience, which included thd crows of tho troopships in port. TliOi following contributed items to the programme:—Misses D. and I. Jones, Mossrs. Okejv ' Ferguson, M'Donald, Chapman (R.M.S. Remuera), and Jones H.M.N .Z.T. No. 10). A mouth organ comptcition was held, and won by.Air. •Stathe'rs (H.M.N.Z.T. No. 7),-and several pomilar choruses were sniig by the men. jtfr. Moore made feeling reference to the loss of the British ships in ; the. North' Sea, the audience standing in silonce as a mark.of sympathy with the 1 relatives of those, who have given their lives fo# the Empire. The singing of "God be with Yon," and hearty cheers for the performers brought a happy evening to a close.
