(From Our Own Correspondents.) ' The Spring Show of the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society was a decided financial success, and as a result about £80 will be addebl to the Belgian Relief fund. At the annual meeting of the Petone Cricket Club Dr Ross presided over a fair attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheets (as published) wero adopted. The election of bfficers resulted as under: —President, ■Dr. Ross (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Coles, H. J. Palmer, J. Lynskey, J. Rogers, and H. Card; Club captain M. A.-Dalgleish; secretary and -treasurer, Mr. A. Bennett; committee, Messrs. W. S.-Brice, A. Smith, G. Wilkes, D. Donoghue, J. Barber; selcc.tion committee,. Messrs. A. Smith, W. S Brice, 'A. Bennett; Delegates to association, Messrs. A. Bennett, A. Dalgleish, W. S. Brice; auditor, Mr. J. Piper. It was decided to form a deputation, to wait on tho. council withregard to top-dressing the pitches, and the letting of No. 4 ground. The. Hutt Valley Dramatic Society intends to produco the comedy "Dr. Wake's Patient" in about a month's time, in aid "of the Petone Distress Fund. A very successful "rally" of the Hutt Electorate No-Liecnso Leaguo was held at St. Augustine's Hall, Petone,.last evening. Mr. .H. Grinstead presided over an excellent attendance. An interesting address was delivered by the Rev. A. Bruce Todd,'of St. David's, Petone, and was much appreciated. The programme was supplied by the Petone Church of Christ,, the following contributing: Mrs. G. Usmar, tho Misses J. Witliington, G. Usmar, C, Jones, Wright, and Donkin, and Masters K. Usmar, M. Ashby, B. Ford, R. 'Usmar, and Grinstead. Mr. J. Roso gave a creditable exposition of ventriloquism, and the meeting terminated vith votes of thanks to the speaker and performors.
