TELEGRAM "FROM HIGH COMMISSIONER. •'....'•'' On several days last week question! were asked in the House and statements were made discrediting the Government's official news that the rate ob-. tainable for marine war-risks- in the War Risks Office, which is under the control of the British' Government in London, was £2 or £2 2s. per cent. Ths Prime Minister cabled to the High Commissioner for definite information, and he has .received the following reply from Mr. Mackenzie: — London, September 18, 10 p.nv "In reply to your, telegram' dated September 17, ro war risks: Rate of premium on cargoes under Imperial Government scheme is £2 2s. per cent, not, whilst Lloyd's, for limited amounts, quote £2 per cent., less customary discount, approximately 10 per cent'. When rates altered will telegraph immediately."
