The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) said that the late Mr. Richard-, son came to Wellington seven years ago, as the representative of ono of the largest electrical firms south of the Line. Mr., Luke said that it was ■Mβprivilege from that day to hare been Mr Richardson's friend. That officer had demonstrated to the business community that he was an electrical expert of che very highest order, capable of putting his abilities to the pest use. Hβ did , not put himself in the limelight, but carried out his duties with a. high regard to his reponsibilities. When the electrical . undertakings were taken over by the City, Mr. Richardson's opinion was held in. the highest esteem, and enabled a successful undertaking to be carried on by'the City. He was a. man who gave his best ungrudgingly. His loss was not only one to the Wellington City, but to the whole municipal governments in the Dominion, for he was looked up ,to as an .electrical expert. He proposed the following motion: "That this council expresses its deepest sympathy with Mrs. Richardson and family- in their sad bereavement, and places on record its great appreciation of tlie services so loyally and capably carried out by the late- Mr. .Richardson during his term of service with the council. , '.■ Councillor R.
