Minister of Defence, Senator Pearco. Minister of Customs, M>r. Tudor. Minister of. External Affairs, Mr. J. Arthur. Minister of" Home Affairs, Mr. W. Archibald. Postmaster-General, Mt. W. ,G. Spence. Vice-president of the Executive Cbuncilj Senator Gardiner. Honorary Ministers, Mr. H. Mason, Mr. J. Jessen, and Senator Rus- ' sell. The Federal Parliament will be opened on October 8. . NEW PORTFOLIO' CREATED. " (Rec. September 18, 9 p.m.) .. Melbqurna, September 18. The Federal Labour caucus has decided, to create a new Federal Works Department to control the Commonwealth capital at Canberra, the Federal railways, and all Federal public works, excepting naval works and fortifications. The new portfolio will be given to Mr. Jensen, thus increasing the Ministerial salaries, from £12,000 to £14,000 or £15,000 per annum. . ■ General satisfaction is , expressed at the composition of the new Ministry. The new Ministry is the third formed by; Mr. Fisher, and is the tenth since the establishment of the Commonwealth in 1901. The first Fisher Administration lasted, from November 13, 1908, to June 2, 1909, and the second from April 29, 1910, U, June 20, 1913. The second Fisher Ministry consisted of: Mr. Fisher, Prime Minister and Treasurer; Mr. Josiah Thonias, Minister for External Affairs; Mr. F. G. Tudor, Trade and Commerce; Mr. King O'Malley,, Home Affairs; Mr. W. M. Hughes, AttorneyGeneral ; Mr. C'.E. Frazer, PostmasterGenoral; Senator Pearce, Defence; Mr. G. M'Gregpr, Vice-President of .the Council; and- Messrs, Findley and Roberts, honorary Ministers. . RIFLE SHOOTING IMPERIAL 'CHALLENGE SHIELD.' .London, September 17. For the Imperial Challenge Shields the senior competition was won by St. Anne's. College, Nova Scotia, with. an average of 93.6.
