'Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on thcr Waikanae sale as under:— Both sheep and cattle came forward well ove radvertiscd numbers, and all lots 6old freely, the tone of. the market being much brighter than for 6ome time-past. Prices on the whole were good. Sheep: Wether hoggets 1,55. 6d., 155.'7 d.;. ewe hoggets, 155.; mixed hoggets (small), 135.; fat wethers, woolly. 255.. 6d.; shorn, £1 Is.; 13-months heifers, r.w.b., £3 125.; yearling heifers, £2 Bs.; empty store'cows, £3 6s„ £3 10s., to £4 45.; springing heifors, £4 7s. 6d„ £5 to £5 75.; cows and calves, £5; 2 fat bullocks, donated by Mr. H. It. Elder oh behalf of the Patriotic. Fund, realised £11 10s. each. .Messrs. W. and G. Turnbull and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) saleyards on Wednesday. There was a good entry of sheen and cattle, well above advertised numbers, and although competition was not as keen as at last sale, there was practically a clearance at the following rates:—Two and four-tooth wethers, 18s. 3d.;,fat ewes, 19s. Id. to 21s. 4d.; forward ewes, 15s. to 16s. 5d.; stow ewes, 10s., 13s. (A., to 13a. !Cd.; owes In lamb. 175.; B.F. hoggets. 145.; medium hoggets, lis. 5d.; tat cowa (light), £6 75.; forward cows, £4 13s.
