A VALUABLE FIND
MAORI ADZES AND CHISELS 00 ANCIENT DAYS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Chrlstohuroh, September 9. About a week ago a ploughman oil Mr, D. Thompson's farm at Motukarara found' a stone adze which had b(,en turned'up by the plough. A search; was made in the soil around, resulting in the discovery of thirty chisels, axes, and adzes, such as were used by, tho Maoris before the arrival of the pakeha. . v The tools are in splendid oondition, and as sharp as possible. They were found in alluvial mil at a depth of from six to eighteen inches below tho surface.
