SCHOOL CONCERT.
St. Mark s'Schoolroom was packed to the doors last evening, when the children of the Mount, Cook Schools gave a bright entertainment in aid of the Patriotic Fund. .There .was plenty of evidence of juvenile talent amongst those who supplied the long programme, and the children, both' boys arid girls acquitted themselves with.credit. The action songs were "When We're Musicians All" and "The Storm"; the plays (whioh were' amusing) were' "Teddy Boars;" "A Family of Rabbits." and "Funny Little Chinamen." Sketches Were contributed by Connie Beale, Clara Collins, and Minnie M'Nair. Ngaire Lemmon recited "My Brother Jack and I," and a kindergarten game was prettily _ played by the-infant girls. Miss Janie Watson contributed a clog dance, and Mr. J. S.;Gandell a musical monologue. Other items were contributed by Misses 'Leitch, Beckway, .Eileen Smith, Masters A. Haley, M'Ginty, A., Sullivan, W. Tonks, R. Hyams, and Mr. C. M. Howard. "Tho Mad Tea Party," an excerpt'-from "Alive iii Wonderland," was an amusing sketch given in the second half of the programme. The accompaniments were played \by . 'Misses Holm, Halley, Chaplin, . and Fuller. During the singing of "The Absentminded Beggar" a, collection was taken up for the Children's Patriotic Fund for the purchase of ambulance outfits for the Expeditionary Force. The sum of £1 6s. 9-Jd. was- realised. The concert will. be. repeated again- this evening.
