HUTT COUNTY AFFAIRS
A special meeting of the Hutt County Council was held-yesterday to consider the estimates of receipts and expenditure, and rating for tlio year 1914-I°> and also a number of other matters. The chairman, Mr. M. W. Welch, presided. ■ It was decided to strike a general rate of dno' penny in tho £ in each riding in the county. A halfpenny ol this is,to provide for .expenditure m the general account,. and a halfpenny to provide for expenditure in each-riding. The tender of Mr. H. Ames, at £7 per .chaihj was accepted for .tho Plim-merton-Pukerua road. .
