MEETING OF CREDITORS
The second meeting-"of the creditors of' Thomas Torpy, .bankrupt, was- to have been held yesterday, hut there was no quorum.' Bankrunt presented a statement in which he said_ that lie had bpen the lessee of the Kilbirnie Skating Rink,, which was destroyed bj; fire in September, 1913. "In connection with the insurance," the bankrupt continued, "I received about £380, out of which I had to pay debts then amounting to about £150." He subsequently went to Melbourne with about £70, and carried on the business of bootmaker. Ho arranged tho ?als_ of a property at Lvall Bay, and received about £125, with which he continued his He borrowed money from his brother-in-luw, but not doing any good in the business had to cablo for money to come back to Wellington, where he had to borrow further money.
