. MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE..' A' meeting of the Executive Committee of the .Municipal-Association was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Mr: J. P. Luke (president), and Messrs;. H. Baldwin (Mayor, of; Lower Hutt), C. C. Crump (Mayor' of ' Onslow), J. W. M'Ewan(Mayorof Petone), A. J. M'Curdy (Upper Hutt Town , Board), and 0. Jerusalem (JoKnsonville.Town Board).' A remit passed by the Harbours' Conference for extending .the time during which land 'may be leased by private contract,' after it has been, offered at auction, to 12 instead of, 3 months, was approyed'cf. The remit was sent to the committee. by the Minister of - Internal Affairs for an of : opinion. ■■'■ The Motor Bill was further. considered. A system of imposing annual license fees with reference!to tlie horse-power of the motor was' approved of. / The committee recommended; the : deletion of sub-clause 2 of clause' 35 of the Bill with reference, to the seating up of sign-posts.
