A cablegram received froin Sydney last" week stated that overtures had. been made to members of t'ho "All Blacks" team, aud that three were to go over to the new code. A private letter received from a member of tho "All Blacks" team now touring Australia refers at length to tho ovbrr tuies which wero made.by the League oxecutivo. Negotiations were certainly in progress. To use the -writer's words: "The League are desperate. . It is the be-, ginning of the end," he writes, "for there is a : decided revulsion of feeling in Sydney towards Union Rugby. An offer of £3000 was made to tlie 'AH Blacks' if they would play an Australian League team. The Leaguo have plenty of money at present, and stop , at nothing to get players.
