TRAFALGAR DAY
_A special meeting of tho local execu-. tive of the Navy League was held last uight- in connection with the arrangements for the local' celebration: of Trafalgar, on October 21. Various details Mere approved. It was resolved that the gallery of the Town Hall should bo reserved tor school -members --and- their parentsj; without charge. Arrangements wore being made by the senior naval officer to have a warship in port, and it was anticipated' ' that the men-of-Jvarsnißn would supply . some of the items for tho programme. Tho services of a first-class band are to be- secured. The thanks of the League were oxtended to Mr. Hardie Shaw for undertaking to supply tlio lantern accessories- for displaying Nelson slides and other naval pictures appropriate fco tho occasion. .
Major J. E. Watson, of Invercargill, who gave an address at the Dunedin celebrations last 'year, accepted tho League's invitation to epoak this year at Wellington on "Our Heritage." One other good speaker is ..being arranged for. -Tha' function promises to be quite nip to the standard of ; former gatherings of the kind. . .- , . . .
