(Published by Arrangement.) AN OPEN LETTER TO A. C. DAN* lELLS, PRESIDENT OF THE S.D.A. CENERAL CONFERENCE. Several letters have been written and sent to you and tho General Conference during the last twenty years. But to none lias there been a reply,- or even an acknowledgment. There seems; therefore, to be a need for an. Open Letter. ■ All through - your past history you have protested against Papal errors and dogmas. .You have frequently quoted tho rallying cry of past ages, "Tho Bible, and the Bible alone, is the reJigion «f Protestants." I, ask, where in the Bible do yon find authority for the name of your Sectarian Church? It is true that the Seventh Day. is tho Sabbath, and tliat the Advent of Christ a second time is Bible But where in tho Holy Scriptures have you the authority to set aside the name of the Church of God, which is given ten times by the Holy Spirit, and which is left on record for us."in tho Holy Book? In going with a.. message, and that which is the last, to the world, we should go with Divino authority, that is, in the namo of tho Lordof Hosts. To go with any other'name is denying the LORD that bought them. "WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK IS, THE SABBATH IN NEW ZEALAND? ■' As ■ you came to New Zealand from the United States; of America, you omitted one whole day, and one whole night on the-voyage. I qsk for Bible sanction, or command- to do so. Are you not clearly violating "God's covenant of the day . and of the night" ? Gen. 8: 22, with- Jere. 33: 20. When one goes westward' round tho world, there is-no violating God's Covenant, not even, at Eden; -there ths Sabbath Day comes'on and goes_off the globe. -You are now. not observing tho same day as'you did in America. Then you were a S.D.. Adventist; now you ar> a. Sixth Day Adveritist. . " This is an unenviable position to be in. You and your people hold that the Sabbath was made, in Eden: those hours were, blessed, and :mddo';holv after the Creator had reste'd. - Why then, should not those blessed and holy, hours come to us from Eden, Ararat, Sinai, Jerusalem, and California in their .course round tlio world, so that we in .Now Zealand can keep the very day hallowed in Paradise? It is sinful to change, and break one of tho Ten Commandments, and 'teach men so. THE SABBATH IS A MEMORIAL OF CREATION; If the fourth day's work-of creation -week was to regulate by the sun tho course of the day all round tho; world,, where .is .the consistency .in keeping the 1 Sabbath as the Memorial of Creation, and at the same time making void onesixth portion of that week's work? As. the Seventh Day Sabbath is the forefront of your message' and nam<., you ought, to be able to prove.from the Bible- which day of the seven' is the seventh, and not accept ancl conform to the numbering of'the days'of tho week as-arranged by Papal Rome, or as practised by the Wandering Jew. It is just as wicked to try and observe the sistli day,..for tho soventh,' as it is to try to keep Sunday for the Christian Sabbath. • Neither the first nor the sixth'day whs mado holj\ and therefore cannot possibly be kept holy. , • In keeping the Sabbath' tho Creator is honoured, and acknowledged, but in keeping the first day, or the sixth, th'e Creator is dishonoured and denied. If all tilings were mado bv Jesus Christ, then the Sabbath must be included, for Jesus says: "The Sabbath was made." Thus the Seventh Day is Christ's Sab,bath. In, trying to-keep the 6ixth day in Australasia, are you not denying Christ, and become Anti-Christ? K if? a serious matter'to' profess to know God and in works deny Him. "If we deny Him, He also will deny us." 2 Tim., 2: 12. _ Your Church being yoked' witii Romo, in refusing to admit the Bible into our i Stato schools, is indefensible. The same [spirit would condemn Jehosaphat for sending his officers of State to teach tho law throughout all the cities of Judah, and would denounce tho School of tho Prophets in th© day. of Elijah and Elisha. If wo hold to these and other errors of Babylon, we cannot bav© come out from her. If those errors are uniformed and unconfessed, is it possible to enter the Kingdom of God? Rev. 18: 4, 22: 14 15, P.S.—A cutting from'the "Evening iStar," Auckland, N.Z., July Ist, 1914, has reached; mo. Pastor Daniells, when there was- interviewed by the "Star" reporter, and when ''asked whether lie had any sympathy-with the view held by Pastor Nield, of Wellington, that New Zealand was observing the Seventh Dav as the Sabbath by reason of tho difference of times brought'" about by geographical position, Pastor Daniells said that ho entirely from that belief, and knew Pastor Nield to be scientifically wrong in his contention," The S.D.A. preachers claim to have the Word of God for their authority to preach Sabbath observance. . Has it come to this, that they have "hacked down," and are basing their authority on science instead of tho Bible? Pastor Daniells says I am scientifically wrong, why does he not show me to be Biblically wrong ? It is correct that I am wrong by the 7th Geodetic Congress which was held at Romo in 1883 and rewjmmended that tho location of tho Greenwich ' Observatory should be tho universal meridian. I am wrong by the usage, or laws of Navigation, and international agreement, as well as by "Scionco falsely so called." There are three facts that I want disproved beforo I will ngreo that I am wrong:—lst— That the Sun was appointed to rule tho day, and not tho navigator, Gen. 1: 14-19. 2nd —That tho 'Sabbath was made in Eden, which was west of Assyria. Gen. 2: 14. 3rd—That tho Run nerfornvs its circuit, Ps. 19: 6. Tho'Sabhath being made west of Assyria, and east of Sinai, cannot end its circuit in the Pacific Ocean, where tho day is reckoned as starting and finisbinc its course according to Science.' It is better to acknowledge the mistake, and confess it,, than to say I am scientifically wrontj without nroof. and to continue the "practieo of Sabbath-breaking in Australasia.
