THE FRUIT INDUSTRY

ADVANCES FOR COLD STORES. Under the Fruit Preserving Industry Act of 1913, it was onacted that advances up to £3000 could be made by tho'State Advances Department for the purpose of crccting cold stores for fruit, fruit-canning works, or for other works in connection with the preservation, of fruit. Apparently this amount has been found inadequate, for in a Bill introduced this session by the Hon. W. F. Massey it is. proposed .to increase the amount of the advance to £9000.
