RAILWAY SHUNTER KILLED
FATALITY AT LAMBTON STATION'. A fatal accident occurred at tho Lambton Station railway yards, during the progress Af' r shuhtJtf£'tij)6rattohS; iit'g.4s o'clock last evening; a married' man named Andrew Moyes (of 30A Murphy Street), who was engaged with others in shunting some tracks, being killed instantaneously. •
According to the account given to tho police by Henry Frank Marshall, who was present when the accident happened, lie and i the deceased were shunting wagons. The deceased was giving the signals for slipping the trucks, and was some distance away from him. Ho hoard someone shout, nnd running up found Moyes lying on his back across the mils, close to a truck, which had just .been uncoupled from an engine. Moyes_ had apparently been knocked dowti just after the truck had crossed the points on to another lino.
Dr. Henry, who had been summoned, examined the body and pronounced life extinct. He stated that death had been practicallv due to a fracture .of the spino and other internal injuries.
The body of the deceased, who,was thirty years of age, was subsequently removed to the He is survived by a widow and one child. An inquest will be held in due course.
