' Auckland, June 11. . ..The financial, result of the recent Auckland Exhibition . was disclosed at a'.'meeting of tho Financo Committee of the Exhibition Executive this afternoon; Although i tho meeting was held in camera it is understood that a profit of over £20,000 was. reported.' 'into attractive gardens; another sum of •'".floOO'-roprcsentint the' value r of7 tho perrhanent kiosk which was erected with materials ' given 'by leading citizens; also a further item of £1000, this being jtho value of tho Fairy Fountain, which formed one of the leading outdoor attractions at the Exhibition, and which is to be left as a permanent adornment of tho Domain gardens. Aγ, is generally known the promoters decided, in the early stages of the movement', that any profit accruing from tho Exhibition should hi utilised for tho bcautificatiou'of the Domain grounds, and it was this decision which influenced them in evolving such nn attractive' garden scheme for the Exhibition season. The terraces, lawns, and flower beds, resulting from this scheme, have already been handed over to the care of tho city landscapo gardener, and it is understood that the remainder of the sum on tho profit side of the ledger* is to bo expended'in accordance with the scheme authorised by the Exhibition Executive.
