FARMERS ASK REFERENDUM
ON MILITARY SERVICE. .. (By Telozraph.— Press Association,) rjiinadin, May 22. Tho following motions have been given notice of for the annual meeting of the Otago Provincial Council of the Farmers' Union:—(l) That the Government bo asked to tafeo a referendum of people as to those in favour of military training;. (2) that compulsory service in the Territorials ho restricted to youths residing within two mite of a borough; (3) that rifle clubs Ls encouraged in rural districts.
