A FAVOURABLE IMPRESSION. By Telegraph—Press Association— OopyriEht (Rcc. May 22, 8.30 p.m.) Sydney, May 22. A representative gathering of wino merchants met Mr. Clunow, the Government expert, at tho Now Zealand .Government's I'ureau, when test samples of the 1009-10 vintago of light wines produced at tho Government experimental vineyard at Waerenga wero shown. ~ Mr. W. R. Blow, New Zealand representative of tho Tourist Department in Sydney, in introducing Mr. Blunow, said that ho looked forward to the timo when reciprocity between Australia and New Zealand was an accomplished fact, and that wino would bo amongst tho products covered. Tho experts expressed tho opinion that the wines were of good body, but capable of improvement as regards blending and finish. New -Zealand should bo an ideal champagno country, and trado could bo made successful by careful handling, and selection of districts and vines. Interesting test samples from other districts wero also shown.
